Srila Gurudeva’s Remembrance Festival 7th January

Dear Friends,
Dandavats. Jaya Sri Sri Guru & Gauranga!

Most of you have heard the news, and for those who haven’t, it is with a very sad heart that we bring you this news.
Our divine master, His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja entered Samadhi, the eternal pastimes of Sri Sri Radha and Krsna at 03.00 AM in Sri Jagannath Ksetra Dham, the transcendental residence of Sri Jagannath Deva, Sri Baladeva and Srimati Subhadra on 29th December 2010.

He was later taken for parikrama at Sri Jagannath Puri from Svarga Dwar, then Sri Tota Gopinath, after which they passed Gambhira, then Srila Haridasa Thakur’s Bhajan Kutir. Finally they visited Sri Jagannath Mandir. Loaded with Mahaprasada garlands, he started his final journey to Sri Mayapur Dham, the birthplace of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, by car.

Then on the morning of the 30th Dec, Srila Gurudeva was taken to the Samadhi mandir of his Guru, Srila Bhaktiprajnan Keshava Gosvami Maharaja and his dearest godbrother Srlia Bhaktivedanta Vamana Maharaja and then to the Ganges. Srila Gurudeva was bathed with Ganges water and put into samadhi at Sri Kesvavaji Gaudiya Math in Navadvipa Dham at approximately 11:00am yesterday, 30th Dec.

We were able to have a beautiful festival with Srimati Uma didi on the day he left, singing kirtan and glorifying Srila Gurudeva. It was wonderful to see so many godbrothers and godsisters attend. Yesterday afternoon many devotees spontaneously met at Mahaprabhu & Jahnavi’s house for kirtan and more glorifications during the Samadhi ceremony.

Sripad Bhaktivedanta Giri Maharaja will be here with us from Mon 2nd – Sat 8th Jan. So we will have another great opportunity to meet together.
Further details of his schedule will follow soon.

And next Friday 7th January we will hold a public festival in remembrance of Srila Gurudeva.
First we will have Nagar Sankirtana in Murwillumbah starting at 3.30pm (meeting at Knox Park), followed by a public gathering at the Red Cross Hall starting 5pm. This will give opportunity for more people to attend and offer their respects and pushpanjali.

We are inviting everyone to please join us for this occasion to hear and speak about the divine life and instructions of Srila Gurudeva.
Please invite your friends and family.

Your servant,
Candramukhi dasiSrila Gurudeva ki jaya!01 sri rupa manjari pada
