Two weeks ago, we made an offer to buy the Masonic Halls in Murwillumbah.

OUR OFFER HAS NOW BEEN ACCEPTED !!!!!

We are now going ahead with the purchase of the Masonic Halls as the new headquarters for Srila Gurudeva’s society in Australia !!!

For many years, Srila Gurudeva (Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja) insisted that we have our headquarters in Murwillumbah town.

Right now we have this amazing opportunity to fulfil Srila Gurudevas wishes !

We submitted our offer of $ 350,000 to buy the Murwillumbah Masonic Halls, in Banner Street and this was accepted on Monday 20 February. Not only are we going to buy the Halls, but the sellers have agreed to leave the hall equipped with tables, chairs & anything else we want to keep.

We are presently concentrating our efforts on fundraising, and have come up with a plan that makes the purchase possible for us. We have already $ 65,000 in pledges from members of our sanga. We will have around $ 130,000 to $ 150,000 from the sale of our vacant land in Murwillumbah. That is over half the cost of the halls already. We have many devotees around Australia to raise more funds if everyone could give just $ 10 to $ 20 per week. We also have other practical ways to pay any loan we take out, which we can present to you at our meetings.

The building is perfect for our meetings, it has 2 very large halls, a large kitchen, and it is on top of a hill in a flood free zone, directly adjacent to Murwillumbah Showgrounds, and in the middle of town. It is ideally located, & is opposite the “Sacred Park”. It doesn’t have many neighbors, and has ample parking.

We rented one of the halls this January for 3 days to celebrate Srila Gurudeva’s Vyasapuja Festival with our guests of honour Srimati Syamarani didi, Srimati Uma didi & Vrindi didi. All devotees who attended the festival were very impressed with the hall, & very excited to purchase it for our headquarters.

Our community presently owns a vacant block of land at 17 Prince Street, in Murwillumbah..

We had planned to build our headquarters here, but for various reasons it is not practical, so

we have decided to put this land up for sale, & use all the funds from the sale to purchase the Masonic Hall (the Real Estate Ad for our land sale is at the bottom of this email).

All mortgages on this land have been paid off, so we now own it in full.

Any funds that we do not raise from Donation Pledges, & from the sale of our land, will need to be obtained by a bank loan.

Right now we need your help….

The first thing we need is to be able to pay for it. If everyone in the sanga committed to ten or twenty dollars per week, (or more!) we can do this easily.

A Donation Pledge can be done in 3 ways :

A weekly donation, to cover any loan costs and the day to day expenses such as programs, electricity, council rates, maintenance etc .
A once-off donation to help us secure the building .
Both a weekly donation & a once-off donation.

It doesn’t matter how small, every donation counts!

Right now we need you to become involved, please come to the meetings. Please ask yourself how Srila Gurudev would like you to participate ? How would Srila Gurudevs blessings come to the devotees who serve his divine mission with full enthusiasm ?
